HAIYAA VariPrint 1-2-3 Startup Guide for label production
(For Indigo roll-fed Printer, especially with ESKO RIP)


1. Preparation of template file
a) The template file can be many kinds of formats, PDF is the most popular one.
b) The user use their favorite design software to design template and save as PDF finally. Attention: All text must transform to outline in the template file.

2. Preparation of database
a) Use Excel to prepare the database, save as csv( comma delimiter) or txt (tab delimiter). please refer to: http://www.haiyaatech.com/bbs/b_kantie.asp?tiezi=855
b) If variable element is only serial number, it can be set inside the software instead of preparation of excel outside. Open VariPrint---Open database--Select Autodata option, Use autodata function to write a serial number generation parameter. Please refer to: http://www.haiyaatech.com/bbs/b_kantie.asp?tiezi=281
c) If you want to generate the serial number offline, you can go to Tools menu, select AccountDB and select "Create SN" module to generate the data at high speed.
d) If you want to impose the serial number at column stack style, you can go to Tools menu, select AccountDB and select "Column Stack Data Process" module to generate a new database, then go back to VariPrint, import this new database, select default imposition style (that is the sequence imposition) to impose the flat.

3. Go into VariPrint
a) Open the software, use New under the File menu to create a new project by importing the PDF template file created in Step1
b) Open the database created in Step2 under the Database menu. Attention: select correct delimiter.
c) Begin to design the variable box and link them to the fieldname.
d) Select the Imposition Setup under the Options menu, do setting according to real requirement. No need to add eyemark and crop mark here if you have special demand.
e) Go to System Properties Setup under the Options menu, select variable image printing with other variables" in the PPML Setup window.
f) Click the PPML button and select PPML Special to output PPML package. Attention: Output filename shouldn't be named using 2-byte character, such as Chinese, Japanese due to some types of RIP can't support these characters.

4. Edit PPML file
a) You can use the third party design softwares, such as Illustrator or Coraldraw, to edit xxx_L1.pdf( that is imposed template file)by adding crop mark and eyemark as you like. Attention: Filename shouldn't be changed.

5. Send PPML package to ESKO RIP with Indigo to print
a) Send the package created in Step3 and Step4 to ESKO RIP, the package includes 3 files, such as xx_L1.pdf, xxx_L2.pdf and xxx.ppml.
b) Printing finally


Remark:
If you print to On-Board(HQ) RIP with Indigo or Xeikon,

3-e) You can select any style in the PPML Setup. Attention, the image filename shouldnꊰ be named using 2-byte character.

3-f) Select PPML Standard under the PPML button to output PPML package.

4-a) You can use the third party design softwares, such as Illustrator or Coraldraw, to edit ppml_template.pdf (that is imposed template file) by adding crop mark and eyemark as you like. Attention: Filename shouldn't be changed.
