As the very important part of HAIYAA hangtag production workflow, we release HAIYAA VPDBMaker hangtag data input system to bring the brand company into the automation workflow. It clears away the final barrier to use the digital production system for the hangtag printer.

In the application of digital hangtag production, the biggest difficulties our customer feedback to us is the irregularity of data that the brand company sent to them. Excel, word, PDF are the formats they usually receive. What's worse is they often get fax and telephone as the order data. The printer worry about more manually cut-paste will lead to more error happen besides a lot of time it takes to integrate the data.

We understand this situation very much and try to satisfy it through developing many data integration utilities and providing customization service. But as a one-stop solution, we think we must provide the brand company an easily use way to input regular order data. VPDBMaker is the beginning towards to our target.

The special feature of the system is flexibility and generality. The user can customize the fieldname and field numbers according to the different project. Once they are set, the personalized data input interface will be generated automatically and purchase order template can also be designed. Thus after data input, the purchase order and database will be generated simultaneously.

The target user of VPDBMaker is the hangtag buyer. Regarding to the brand company having its own ERP or MIS system, Haiyaa are willing to provide DLL later for embed use. Considering to the permission of external internet accessing and intranet security, we provide the system in CPU version at first.

    [2012-01-18] Haiyaa VariPrint add its own microfont based on printer's resolution
 
As one of the improvement to HAIYAA's anti-counterfeit solution, we launch the pixel level microfont based on the printer's resolution today. Working with high resolution digital printers, it brings to you clearer and smaller variable microtext.

Previously the microtext is fulfilled by using 0.x pounds TrueType font. When setting to the extreme small size, the strokes will be merged sometimes since the no fractional pixel after ripping. Different from TureType microfont, our pixel level microfont is customized according to the printer's real resolution. Within HAIYAA VariPrint, the every dot of microtext represents one ink pixel. It can get the minimum microfont and avoid strokes merge error.

Now we can do:
1) In the 5x7 dot matrix, the height of microtext printed using HP Indigo reaches to 0.25mm, more less than the 0.4-0.5mm height of the microtext displayed in the normal check and credit card. In other words, if we set bigger dot matrix, the microtext will be clearer printed on the same resolution printer.
2) HAIYAA's microfont can be produce variable microtext, it support CMYK and spot color.
3) One set of microfont at 5x7 pixel 812dpi is built in the module. It includes A-Z, a-z 0-9 characters. The user can also design his own style microfont and import it to HAIYAA VariPrint using our packing utility attached. Thus he can get more personalized style microtext.
4) Limitation: Now the module only support layout at 0, 90, 180, 270 degree.

The module is provided as optional and used with HAIYAA VariPrint.

Comparing with previous barcode, the most of what we add this time are barcodes used in Europe and America countries.     [2011-07-22] Haiyaa release variable latent image module
 
Haiyaa release variable latent image module today, which will bring a new anti-counterfeiting method to the industry. This technology is established based on variable pattern, now our solution supports only pure variable text and number.

Latent image technology isn¡¯t new itself, it is used to print paper currency and securities with gravure machine a long ago. But in that application, the latent image is static. Along with the digital printer¡¯s popularization, we got the requirement of variable latent image constantly. In order to meet this new demand, Haiyaa develop this easily use variable latent image module.

In fact, it is not very difficult for us to develop the module conforming to latent image theory. Before, we developed variable relief pattern and variable anti-copy module. These are all based on pattern technology. The tough job is how to find the optimized parameter adaptive to each model and brand of digital printer. This is the biggest difference between variable latent image printed in the digital printer and static latent image printed in traditional printer. With the help of many users and printer manufacturers, now we have gotten many first hand material, which we will offer to our customers when selling the module.     [2011-03-22] Haiyaa release variable anti-copy module  
 
Today Haiyaa release variable anti-copy module in the VariPrint. This module is a new anti-counterfeiting module developed to prevent unauthorized duplication of original document. It is a world leading solution combining both of variable data printing and anti-copy technologies. We are sure it will bring a new creative idea to commercial transaction and label printing as well as office secret document printing.
Our anti-copy technology is drawn from basic photocopy theory, that is the photocopier will get different result when copying the halftone picture with different line and dot size. Differing from other anti-copy product, as a professional VDP software developer, we add variable data concept into it. It leads to expand the anti-copy application to many new industry use and increase the cost of unauthorized duplication tremendously.

Besides variable technology input, we also develop a new method to response manually density setting when copying. Whatever light or dark setting, the hidden security text can be eventually displayed.

Furthermore, Haiyaa Variable software build in many logic function, That can help produce the hidden text with more complicated logic. This is a feature other solution haven't.

To emphasize, our variable anti-copy is aimed to photocopier, it is not a anti-reproduction method. Actually, anti-copy and anti-reproduction are two different concept. In order to increase partial anti-reproduction capability, the user can add a camouflaging layer in the form of PDF overlap on our anti-copy picture. This camouflaging pattern can be customized and produced by user himself according to his own hope.

Haiyaa variable anti-copy support both of B/W and color halftone. If using light color halftone, the result is much more better. There are six anti-copy setting built-in the module. The user can select one of them to match up his printer.

    [2010-11-29] Haiyaa add photo mask function in the ID card making 
 
Along with the increasing demand for photo mask in the ID card making, today Haiyaa add special mask function in the VariPrint. The mask result of this function is the same as that processed in PhotoShop. The edge of the head photo is totally transparent. Since we use new algorithm, the output speed is the same as general variable image. This technology will increase the working efficiency of ID card with photo mask, that will bring new opportunity to professional card producer.

This technology can be also applied in cloth label and hangtag production, especially with shoe transparent and out-of-shape washing icon overlapped on full color or pure color background.

Regarding to no EFI Fiery or the RIP without PPML support environment, how to increase the efficiency of printing variables plus template simultaneously is a tough problem for many digital printing providers, especially for multi-page template. If you own Haiyaa VariPrint, of course, it is not a problem. But for many third party VDP or label making software buyer, it will be a low efficiency process when printing variables plus template using these application. Targeting to this kind requirement, Haiyaa develop VPPDFFreeForm PDF overlap merge utility. This utility is easily to use. Just select variable PDF and template PDF separately, whatever the template file is one page or multiple pages, then click "Merge", you can get merged file in the destination folder after several minutes. It is now a manually operation utility. We can also customize it to hot folder solution.

    [2010-06-26] Haiyaa VariPrint unveils support to variable vector image at high processing speed
 
Haiyaa VariPrint unveils support to variable vector image. This strong function sweep away the obstacle of applying variable vector image by overcoming snail speed in using some other variable solutions. We are sure this technology will bring more innovative personalized effect to digital printing.

In the practical variable production, 99% variable images are in RGB TIFF or JPEG format, the small part use CMYK images. So the most of variable data printing applications and nearly all of the label makers only support RGB TIFF or JPEG. Along with the segmentation of VDP, variable vector image is becoming more useful in some particular applications and thus Haiyaa develop to respond to this increasing demand.

1.Technical derivation from PPML concept
Actually Haiyaa VariPrint already support EPS variable image through PPML, but in the practical usage, we saw two kinds of situation. One is many digital printers, especially many B/W printer doesn't support PPML. The other situation is many operators of the digital printer with PPML function haven't enough knowledge of PPML. They like to merge all of variable elements to PDF in the front end. Therefore, Haiyaa hopes to fulfill PPML concept in the front VariPrint. Although the working efficiency of this workflow can't match PPML operation in the RIP side, its benefit is that this method is adaptive to all of printers with or without PPML support. On the other side, the operator hasn't to involve in PPML in the RIP side since every thing is merged to a PDF file by VariPrint.

2. High processing speed 
Comparing to some variable plug-ins under the professional layout software, as we apply PPML concept, our process is totally different from their very slow speed situation. The new version VariPrint can get higher speed in processing vector image than JPEG image. Since most of our customers are in production use, so the speed is always one of the most important consideration to our development.

Recently Haiyaa VariPrint variable data printing software is installed in the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) as the default VDP application for the education and its national digital printing lab use. This is the second time adoption by the professional printing education organization after VariPrint was selected by College of Communication and Art Design, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) in 2008. In order to give thanks to BIGC and record this event, we issue this news release. We are sure this installation will give positive influence on making Haiyaa as the de facto VDP standard in China in the future

As you know, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication are the most famous universities in the field of printing education in China. [2010-04-20] Haiyaa unveils new PDF output workflow of VariPrint
 
Haiyaa unveil new version of VariPrint with its own PDF output workflow. Using this version, the user can save cost and optimize the whole workflow. Haiyaa use this version to strengthen its entrance in European market.

Comparing with the previous version, there are four new key features.

1. The new version can support PDF template input and final PDF output without Acrobat full version. The user doesn't need to install Acrobat full version since then. It will cut the cost.
2. Speed up the PDF printing and decrease the size of final PDF, especially in variables plus template printing.
3. Enrich the TIF output. It can setup single page or multipage TIF, 1-bit TIF or multicolor TIF. It can also set many compress mode. Furthermore, it can setup resolution to X and Y separately. This option is very useful to industrial inkjet printing application.
4. Use Haiyaa's own PPD to print out PS file. Comparing with PPDs along with digital printer, HAIYAA.PPD can be used to print imposition page without size limitation.

Beside above main new features, there are another several improvements in the new version, such as we add full color and spot color support in dynamic font properties and dynamic box properties, it will produce more new variable data printing application, especially together with the digital printer with full color and spot color support.

In the VDP market, many label printing software only support RGB and they are usually used to print serial number and popular barcode. Comparatively Haiyaa VariPrint can not only produce all of variable text, image, barcode and chart, but also produce variable display properties. Haiyaa unveils creative full random verification code anti-counterfeit solution. This is a world leading technology which will give many manufacturers a new way to protect their product and service.

The idea of Haiyaa's verification code anti-counterfeit technology comes from PIN (personal identification number) concept when login in on the website. But considering digital printing, the operation and its display of our technology is totally different from PIN in the internet.

There are several features showing the full random technologies.
1. The original data of verification code can be serial number, the combination of random characters through logic processing or the random combination of fixed pattern pictures. The content of the verification code can not be the true original data, instead it is from the result of encryption of source data.
2. The characters in the code picture is in the form of random status or the combination of random and regularity. The latter ensures the best recognize.
3. The color, size and rotation angle of each verification code character is random. Of course, the user can customize it in the fixed way and can setup the range of random.
4. The saving path and filename of verification code picture can be customized and encrypted.
5. Interference element is added into verification code to strengthen its security.

[2009-07-01] Haiyaa unveils VPPos middleware to integrate VariPrint into third parties' label production workflow
Haiyaa unveils VPPos middleware to integrate VariPrint into third parties' label production workflow. It is combined with two parts, one is embedded in VariPrint, the other is a utility called VPPosDesigner. First using VariPrint to make project file for every label, then using VPPosdesigner to create VPPos description file (ini or xml format) which have many project files information. Send VPPos file to third parties's workflow for processing, Afterward, the third workflow send revised VPPos file back, which will be used by VariPrint to print to final document.

VPPos is a middelware which is only provided to third workflow developer instead of enduser. VPPos is very important to Haiyaa, it will smooth the whole label production and make a new automation label production workflow.

Haiyaa recently engaged in ticket production of The 11th National Games. As is well known, The 11th National Games will be held in JiNan, ShanDong province. DaDao, a big digital printing company based in JiNan contacts us through Canon China's recommendation. With the help of Canon's technical and our several testing, we finally deliver merged PDF files in time. [2009-04-28] Haiyaa announces variable underpainting technology for anti-counterfeiting application
Haiyaa annouces new variable underpainting technology for anti-counterfeiting application. With this technology, variable text, such as serial number will be hided in the gray underpainting and is only visible with special shading film instead of human eyes.

We provide total solution to produce variable underpainting and corresponding shading film. In the software, we have both of line and halftone underpainting default setting. The user can customize its own underpainting pattern by adjusting density of dot gain and line gap. We can also customize for the customer by selecting special pattern when they place the order. That will lead to more secrecy and more difficulty to duplicate.

Besides special pattern, we have six layouts of variable text, which include straight line, diagonal, circular, ellipse, sine, abnormity text. If abnormity text is selected, the user can input letter, for example L, then final variable text will arrange along with figure L.
